1. It may be inferred from the text that Hutchins posits that the complexity of financial markets calls for analysis based on groupthink, as psychological or cognitive science analysis of the individual is clearly insufficient.

Primeiramente, é importante mencionar que falta, no item, um artigo definido antes de “psychological”, o que pode dificultar a compreensão do item. O artigo é necessário — e inclusive é usado no texto — por causa da of-phrase “of the individual”*.

De qualquer forma, eu não diria que pode-se inferir da citação de Hutchins que é preciso fazer uma análise com base em pensamento de grupo; groupthink quer dizer “a type of thinking engaged in by a group of people deliberating an issue, typically characterized by the making of injudicious decisions through individuals’ unwillingness to challenge group consensus” (Oxford English Dictionary). O item está ERRADO.

2. Using based on instead of “on the basis of” (l. 31) would not alter the general meaning of the sentence.

O item está CERTO. A substituição de on the basis of por based on não causaria mudança no sentido da passagem.

3. The expression “on a par with” (l. 30) means competing.

O item está ERRADO. On a par with não tem esse sentido. Naquele contexto, a expressão poderia ser traduzida como “comparável a”.

4. According to the text, automated trading and other new technologies have made financial economics hegemonic among traders as a tool to interpret the gyrations of the financial market.

O item está ERRADO. O autor afirma que apenas às vezes as formas de pensar, os procedimentos e os algorítimos utilizados estão relacionados a “financial economics” (l. 24-25). O que acontece com maior frequência é o recurso a formas de pensar e de agir que não têm relação direta com a ciência econômica acadêmica (l. 26-31).
